Stage BAAMONDE – SOBRADO DOS MONXES – ARZÚA

In Baamonde, it is worth visiting the Santiago parisch church, of romanesque style of transition. In the vicinity, the ruins of the Amarante fortress are found, which was destroyed during the peasant riots of the Middle Ages. After Baamonde, the pilgrim crosses again the municipality of Guitiriz where one can visit the San Alberte church of the XIII century, at the foot of Parga river and its bridge, one of the most beautiful places of Guitiriz.

The route continues through Caínzos, Ceboleira and Carballedo, among other villages, we reach Friol, the last municipality of Lugo of the North Way. We pass through Seixón, Miraz d (where De Miraz tower is erected) and Braña where we invite you to divert to visit San Paio de Narla fortress. The route goes by A Roxica, A Cabana, A Travesa de Ledro, Corteporcos and Marco das Pías, the entrance place to the province of A Coruña, more specifically in the Sobrado Dos Monxes and Arzúa town councils, where it converges with the French Way.
