Stage SAN XUSTO DE CABARCOS – LOURENZÁ

From San Xusto de Cabarcos, the route rises to Calvario mountain in order to then initiate a descent to Lourenzá, where the pilgrim waits for the impressive monastery of San Salvador, which is a historic-artistic monument from the year 1974. The building was founded at the end of the X century by Osorio Gutiérrez earl, known as O Conde Santo. In this building, the main façade is highlighted, which was the work of Casas Novoa, who also designed the Obradoiro façade of the Saint James Catedral. Inside the monastery, we will see the Valdeflores chapel, which harbours Conde Santo and A Nosa Señora de Valvanera tombs, which integrate the Sacred Art Museum.
