Stage Soto de Luiña Cadavedo

SOTO DE LUIÑA – CADAVEDO (23,3 Km)

Councils of Cudillero and Valdés

Walk

The Camino goes through the hamlet of Soto de Luiña, from where it follows the road until it reaches the Cuesta de la Torre on the right. Already in terms of Llanorrozo, it passes through Las Chavolas, starting here, to the left of the old N-632 road, the Royal Path of the Sierra de Las Palancas or Path de los vaqueiros.

At this point, the walkers could also choose to follow the Path de Las Ballotas, a more modern itinerary that connects the centers of Valdredo, Albuerne, Novellana, Castañeras, Ballota and Tablizo, crossing the streams and ravines interposed between them, connecting with the one that follows here at the height of Cadavedo. The path of Las Palancas ascends along the Cuesta de la Ventana to the mountain of the same name and continues, to the southwest, to La Sierra and Llano de la Paja, where the road acts as a boundary between the councils of Cudillero and Valdés.
At the end of the plain rises to skirt the peaks of Cerro Perina and Monteagudo, leaving on the right several roads to Monteagudo and Resiellas, and falls gently to the hill of Las Ventas, crossing the road. Facing west, the Camino leaves the Pico de los Huesos on the right; it turns to the southwest and, without descending, arrives at the base of Pico Cabornín. Take the climb, with the same direction, skirting its southern skirt until you reach the hill of Obtar de Mujeres and, later, to El Pocín.
Here it coincides with several paths that goes down to the slopes, and continues along the west, where the ascent continues, leaving Alto de las Cogruzas and Las Peñas del Bolado to the right, and Pico Paradiella to the left. higher height of the Sierra de Las Palancas. The Way descends at the northern side of the mountain towards the hill of Rodiella, where it falls in a zigzag on the slope and reaches Las Estadas Nuevas, the final spur of Las Palancas that leads to San Pelayo de Tehona. From here, the route continues until you cross the road from Cortina to Cadavedo.
